About Us
VERITAS

is currently preparing for publication a “Book of Croat Crimes Against the Serbs in 1990-1995 War”, consisting of 5 volumes (one volume per each region in the RSK). The first volume which deals with the area of North Dalmatia has been finalised.

VERITAS is preparing to publish a video cassette which deals with the same topic. It uses selected materials from the video recording from the "scene of the crime", part of VERITAS' fond.

So far, VERITAS has prepared some 20 files regarding Croat crimes against the Serbs (Expelling 90/91, Gospic 10/91, West Slavonia - Mass Graves 91/92, Mali Alan 1/93, Ravni Kotari 1/93, Mirlovic Polye 9/93, Medak Pocket 9/93, West Slavonia 5/95, Krayina 8/95, Camps in Croatia, Prisoners of war, Killed, Refugees). Most of these files have been forwarded to the Hague Tribunal.

The cooperation with the Hague Tribunal has continued even post the egile of Krayina Serbs in May and August 1995. Either individually or jointly with other non-government and government institutions in the FRY, VERITAS has facilitated witnesses for the Hague Tribunal, pertinent to war crimes against the Serbs in RSK and the RC.

VERITAS follows destinies of those detained and arrested for war crimes i.e. suspected, indicted and sentenced Serbs from RSK and Croatia, and is in favour of their guilt being decided by the Internation War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague.

With the assistance of international humanitarian organisations and individuals, VERITAS' documents (text books, video and audio recordings) have been disseminated throughout the world. Our representatives have presented these documents in Bulgaria (9/93, Sophia), Russia (1/94, Moscow), Greece (3/94, Ksanti) FR Yugoslavia and the Republic of Srpska (on different occassions in various locations).

Further to this, VERITAS' documents have been presented to the representatives of international organizations working on the territory of former Yugoslavia, as well as to world known and local media representatives.

Thousands of names of detained, dead and missing Krayina residents can be found on VERITAS' Missing lists.

Nothing can be done for the dead, yet if we listen to their voices we can help ourselves. If we wish to keep them in our memory forever we need to remember their names, tell stories of their sufferings and write down names of those responsible for their deaths. In this, let our conscience be our guide in remembering them sooner rather than later. Let us remember them before darness hides the FLASH and before calm sinks the STORM into oblivion. For Yasenovac is there to warn.
